December 7th 2015 – The 1st Apprentice admitted to the Grand Lodge of Serbia
The Lodge with the longest continuous existence in post WW2 history of Freemasonry in Serbia, the Lodge “Pobratim” (“Twinned Brother”) (founded in 1891, reestablished in 1990), held a Ritual Work during which, just two days after the Constituent Assembly of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, admitted the 1st candidate into the Brotherhood of the Grand Lodge of Serbia. After the Expert of the Lodge “Pobratim” Brother A.K, closed the candidate into the Contemplation Room, the Ritual Work commenced, led by the Worshipful Master of the Lodge “Pobratim” – Brother Z.S.
After the ritual initiation of newly recruited Brother D.Z. to the Mason Apprentice Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, the Orator of the Lodge “Pobratim”, at the same time the newly elected Grand Orator of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother B.R, gave an appropriate greeting speech, with which he reminded the new Brother and attendees with the history of Serbian Freemasonry, presenting several previously unknown and unpublished information about the Lodge “Light of the Balkans” and its operation during the Serbian-Turkish war, after which Serbia regained its independence, as well as about activities of Brethren from the Lodge “Pobratim” on the creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
The Work was honored by the presence of guests from other Lodges from Belgrade, especially Brother G.P, Grand Master of Ceremony of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, who on this occasion performed the duty of Master of Ceremony, as well as Grand Chancellor of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother V.R, and representatives of the Supreme Council of Serbia.
